S62 Engine Air Intake Procedure

Engine air intake removal
Remove bank 1 & 2 MAF sensor electrical cable connectors.
Press in on connector side clips, pry connector at end, and pull off connector (flathead).
Disconnect banks 1 & 2 MAF electrical cables from clips under intake boot.
Loosen banks 1 & 2 intake duct hose clamps at intake manifold (6mm socket 1/4″ / 1/4″ ratchet & extension).
Pull bank 1 & 2 intake ducts from intake manifold.
Disconnect bank 1 & 2 intake air filter housing cover 4 clips each. Pry clips off (hand).
Lift up and remove bank 1 & 2 air filter box and intake ducts from engine compartment.
Remove air filters from air filter boxes.
Engine air intake installation
Clean bank 1 & 2 air filter boxes (towels & water based cleaner).
Install bank 1 & 2 air filters in air filter boxes.
Install bank 1 & 2 air filter box and intake ducts into engine compartment.
Mount banks 1 & 2 air filter box covers and fasten 4 mounting clips each.
Note: If cover not installing, remove cover and align and install air filter correctly.
Install bank 1 & 2 air duct ends onto intake manifold.
Align hose clamps to be accessible at each air duct side (picture).
Verify ducts are fully inserted onto intake manifold.
Position and tighten banks 1 & 2 air duct hose clamps (6mm socket 1/4″ / 1/4″ ratchet & extension).
Install bank 1 & 2 MAF electrical cables in clips under intake boots.
Install bank 1 & 2 MAF sensor electrical cable connectors.
Press connector onto MAF until it snaps into place.
